Walmart offers first ever online grocery pick up here

By Linda Waggener

Walmart Of Columbia announced the first ever online grocery pick up at the Columbia store.

Their banner ad will pop in and out of the news on Columbiamagazine.com this week with a handy link jumping directly to the grocery site.

I am giving the new service a try, starting by having a family member who knows all about such things to download the Walmart app onto my cell phone. From the app, ordering was a snap.

When I finished shopping, I noticed that there was an automatic check mark beside each item on my shopping list indicating that they could make a substitute if it was out of stock. I unchecked a few of the items that I would not want a substitute for.

Part of the process asks you to select best time for pick up so that there's no hold up.

I got an immediate order confirmation by email for Saturday morning pick up.

Will report more details from there.

New Walmart service works just as advertised

Casey and Vickie, customer associates at Columbia's Walmart, were very helpful in bringing the online order out to the car. The service worked exactly as advertised and everything in the order was in the bags.
