Tyler Giles of Columbia passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at his home after an illness.

All services will be held privately, with burial to follow in Haven Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at

He was born March 27, 1992, in Taylor County. Tyler was a proud Alumnus of the Adair County Band and had worked in retail sales.

Survivors include:
  • His mother & step-father - Juanita Otterson Cowan & Anthony of Columbia
  • His father - John Giles of Columbia
  • Two sisters - Chanley Otterson Grant (Mackenzie) and Kiley Hutchison all of Columbia
  • One step-brother - Tyler Cowan of Columbia
  • Maternal Grandmother - Geraldine Otterson of Columbia
  • Paternal Grandmother - Barbara Giles of Columbia
  • Two nephews - Alexander & Xavier Grant
  • Four uncles - Jimmie Otterson, Jr. of Columbia, Kenny Otterson (Carrie) of Berea, Johnny Otterson of Murfreesboro, TN, Jeff Giles of Diego Garcia
  • Two aunts - Hope Otterson, Jennifer Ferguson (Mark) all of Columbia
  • Several cousins, other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jimmie Otterson, Sr. and Tommy Giles and an uncle, Jim Giles
