Gas Pipeline Emergency: Expect loud noises

At 6:16pmCT, Enbridge Inc., operators of the gas transmission pipeline more popularly known as Texas Eastern, contacted the Adair County 911 Center requesting temporary evacuation assistance at a location near North Highway 55. Multiple Agencies responded and assisted with evacuation of residents.

Pipeline service stations in Plum Point and Weed Sparksville area are currently being "blown down". Expect a loud noise but no immediate threat in those areas.

Enbridge is on the scene and coordinating efforts along with County Officials.

Gas pipeline emergency ends well



2020-04-27 - Adair County, KY - Photo Adair EMS.
Adair County Emergency Management reported that all was well after what could have been a bad situation with the gas pipeline running across the county. The issue was determined by Enbridge Gas Company to be a main water line leak that crosses the gas pipeline. Residents that had to be evacuated were given the all clear to return to their homes after it was cleared Saturday. Responding to help were Columbia - Adair County Fire Department, Adair Sheriffs Office, Kentucky State Police, Columbia Gas Department, Columbia Adair Water District and Adair 911. Venting blow down sounds could be heard in the areas of Plum Point and the Weed Sparksville area.
