David Ricky Edmonds, 65, Summersville, KY (1954-2020)

David Ricky Edmonds of Summersville passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020. He was 65 years old.

There will be private services held for David Ricky Edmonds. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at cowherdandparrott.com.



David Ricky Edmonds of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late David Luther Edmonds and Hattie Elizabeth Bagby Edmonds, was born on Wednesday, October 27, 1954 in Hodgenville, Kentucky, and departed this life on Friday, April 17, 2020 at his home. He was 65 years, 5 months, and 21 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. He was also employed with Cox Interior, Inc. in Campbellsville.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen Gayle Bloyd Edmonds of Summersville, having united in marriage on May 14, 1983.

Other survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Carrie and Craig Martin, Melanie Edmonds, and her boyfriend, Junior Feese, and Emily and Ethan Patterson all of Summersville; four grandchildren: Jaydon Martin, Maddux Martin, Ella Martin, and Owen Patterson all of Summersville; father-in-law: Milton Bloyd of Summersville; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Joyce and Jerry Scott, Vickie and Mike McCubbins, Rita and Jimmy Berry all of Summersville; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Billy and Becky Bloyd, and Sherry Bloyd all of Summersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Edmonds was also preceded in death by a daughter: Hillary Edmonds on April 2, 1992; and three brothers: Luther Edmonds, Barry Edmonds, and Bobby Lee Edmonds.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, which can be made through the funeral home.

Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
