Lane Kelsay takes 1st in Ready, Set, Grow contest Rachel Waggener, Visual Arts Teacher Adair County Elementary School Lane Kelsay, a fifth grader at Adair County Elementary School, has once again earned first place in a statewide art contest! Earlier this year, Lane won first place in his age group, for the statewide "Team Kentucky" contest. He was able to attend the inauguration and meet Gov. Andy Beshear. He also placed in Adair County's Jim Claypool Art Contest this year! This time, Lane earned FIRST PLACE out of ALL AGE GROUPS in the Commonwealth in the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's "Ready, Set, Grow!" Poster and Essay Contest!! While the plans to honor him at the ceremony have been put on hold due to the COVID19 outbreak, Adair County Elementary School would love to congratulate him and also shine a spotlight on him for this tremendous accomplishment! Lane is a wonderful artist but also has a very strong work ethic. He displays discipline and patience when completing art projects which is a true example for us all. I am so incredibly proud of Lane! This story was posted on 2020-04-14 19:26:01
