Mary Russell Mitchum, 85

Mary Russell Mitchum, 85, 969 Glens Fork Road, Glensfork, KY (Fairplay Community), passed away on Friday, January 9, 2004, at 2:30 a.m., at the Medical Center of Bowling Green after several weeks illness.

The funeral service will be Sunday, January 11, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Bro. Stanley Watson, and Bro. Sam Burris officiating.

Mrs. Mitchem was the daughter of the Late James Edwin "Ed" and Alta Mae Blair Taylor of Adair County, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Preston Mitchum, November 1, 2000.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Florene Severson, Chicago, IL; Donnette and her husband, Perry Kelsay, Glens Fork, KY; Kathy and her husband, Wilburn England, Smiths Grove, KY
  • Two sons: Bobby Mitchum and his wife, Bernice Mitchum, Glens Fork, KY; Tommy Mitchum and his wife, Suzanne Mitchum, Columbia, KY
  • One brother: Allen Taylor, Columbia, KY
  • Three sisters: Thelma Gerage, Bardstown, KY; Helen Loy, Louisville, KY; and Florence Aldrighetti, Columbia, KY.
  • Ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and five great grandchildren
She was also preceded by one grandchild, William Josephy Severson, July 24, 1983; and by four brothers: Paul Taylor, Armon Taylor, Edward Taylor, and Raymond Taylor; and by one sister, Christine Frankum.

Interment will be in the McClister Cemetery at Fairplay, KY.

Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY.
