Elizabeth (Mamie) Jeffries Estes, 92, Greensburg, KY (1927-2020) Elizabeth "Mamie" Jeffries Estes of Greensburg passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020. She was 92 years old. There will be private graveside services held, with Bro. Cliffton Sullivan officiating. Entombment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at the Greensburg Cemetery. Elizabeth "Mamie" Jeffries Estes of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Sallie Jeffries Hendricks, and step-father, Kemp Hendricks, was born on Friday, June 3, 1927 in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at her daughter's home in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was 92, years, 9 months, and 23 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a long time member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was also retired from housekeeping with Jane Todd Crawford Hospital after 40 plus years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Estes on November 4, 2012 having united in marriage in March of 1948. Survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: William "Bill" Miller of Greensburg, and James Mike and Becky Estes of Hodgenville; six daughters and four sons-in-law: Jayne Allen of Winchester, Vanita and Jack Holt of Tennessee, Mary Jo Holloway of Greensburg, Carolyn and Tony Ford of Bardstown, Sherry and Tim Gupton of Campbellsville, and Peggy and James Sharpe of Greensburg; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; a special niece: Vivian Kinslow of Glasgow; special friend: Charlie Moon; and a host of other relatives and many special friends. Mrs. Estes was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: J.D. Jeffries and Shirley Hendricks Curry. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Bethlehem Baptist Church Helping Hands Ministry, which can be made through the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.
