Adair County Schools closed through 17 Apr 2020 By Phyllis Curry, Acadmic Dean Adair County Schools Adair County Schools will now be closed through Friday, April 17, 2020, based on information received from the governor's office Friday afternoon. Because of emergency procedures now in place statewide, schools are allowed to count the days students are engaged in learning at home as instructional days, provided we meet the guidelines provide by KDE. Thank you for your patience as we work through this process on short notice. Every effort has been made to deliver or have you pick up instructional packets for work to be completed during the 14 day period leading up to spring break. If you have not received your child's packet, you may pick one up at your child's school Monday-Friday from 9amCT to 3pmCT. Since students will not be returning to school the Monday after spring break, the process for returning the packet of work will have to be changed so the documentation of those assignments can be submitted to the Kentucky Department of Education by the established deadlines. Updates will be sent out as this information becomes available. The district will be getting more guidance from KDE on Monday and Tuesday. Beginning Monday, April 13, 2020, instruction will transition to a digital format to the extent possible, with packets as needed. Teachers will continue calling households this upcoming week to assist with the current packet of work and to check on their students. When teachers call, they will also be inquiring as to the technology available in homes to allow for digital delivery of the curriculum. Teachers will continue to be available to students Monday-Friday from 9:00-3:00 for as long as non-traditional instruction is in place. You may also contact my office at 270-384-2476, extension 2002 or email me at phyllis.curry@adair.kyschools.us. --Phyllis Curry This story was posted on 2020-03-21 14:42:56
