Alternate access to the Adair County Clerk's Office

With concern over COVID-19, and as the CDC and other health organizations caution the public over gathering in public spaces, the Adair County Clerk's Office would like to offer the public other options to access the office.

We are encouraging customers to use the following options instead of visiting the office.

Renewing Car Tags:


Option 1: use the online renewal portal at www.drive.ky.gov. You will need a credit card to process this payment.

  • www.drive.ky.gov
  • Vehicle services
  • Registration renewal
  • You will need a title number and plate number
  • Customer cannot have delinquencies, overdue property taxes on any other vehicles they own
  • Vehicles must have unexpired registrations(s)
Option 2: Call the clerk's office 270-384-2801. You will need a credit card to process payment.

Option 3: Mail in the renewal to Adair County Clerk's Office, 424 Public Square, Ste3, Columbia KY 42728. Please include a phone number and a copy of your insurance card.

Insurance cards may also be faxed to 270-384-4805 or emailed to Lisa.Greer@ky.gov


Transfer Of A Car:
You will need to visit the office.

Paying Delinquent Taxes:
Customers who need to pay any delinquent tax bill that is owed prior to 2019 can call 270-384-2801 and pay them over the phone with the use of a credit card.


Voter Registration:
Voters can register to vote or update their addresses by submitting a new registration form online at www.govoteky.com. You can also download a voter registration card from the Secretary of State's website at www.sos.ky.gov. The deadline to register to vote for May 19, 2020 Primary is April 20, 2020.

Registrations must be postmarked by April 20, 2020. Remember, the party change deadline was December 31, 2019 to vote in the primary, if you change your party now you will not be eligible to vote in the Primary.

Voters who qualify to absentee vote by mail may call the Adair County Clerk's Office at 270-384-2801 to request an application or they may submit an email request.
