Adair County Public Library Response to COVID19 By Lee Ann Jessee, Director, Adair County Public Library The Adair County Public Library continues to monitor the COVID19 outbreak and has policies and procedures in place to protect our staff and our patrons. At this time, we remain open. With that being said, we have suspended all children's programs both inside and outside the library and on the bookmobile. A decision concerning any programs in April, including genealogy, will be made soon. The library has not reduced hours. We have removed some chairs at computers to practice social distancing. Wipes and sanitizers are stationed at computers and at the counter. We are placing any returned library materials in isolation for the recommended 72 hours then running them through our book heating systems. The bookmobile is still delivering books but no patrons are entering the bookmobile. We are going to begin curbside service Monday March 16, 2020, for anyone but especially for the 55 and over age group and those with compromised immune systems. If you are interested in this service please call the library during business hours at 270-383-2472. We will also check out materials for four weeks instead of two. We are operating on a day by day system and can and will close if necessary or mandated by state or local officials We will not place our patrons or staff in a harmful situation. Please monitor our Facebook page and news media for more information. Also remember we offer many online resources that you can access from your home. Those include ebooks, audios, videos, Worldbook Online, Heritage Quest just to name a few. We are here to serve our community and to work together with local, state and federal officials to help stop the spread of CIVID19. Stay calm and read on! This story was posted on 2020-03-16 06:46:56
