B.C. Harden, Korean veteran and businessman, 76

B.C. Harden, 76, 305 West Barbee Street, Columbia, KY, died Friday, November 21, 2003, at the Veteran's Adminsitration Medical Center in Louisville.

The funeral service will be Monday, November 24, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at Grissom Funeral Home with Gene Overton and Hugh Gannon officiating.


Mr. Harden was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a businessman who owned Harden's Antiques, a grocery store, and a farmer. He also had extensive real estate holdings in the community.

He was a son of the late Estel and Ettie Robinson Harden.

He was member of the Southside Church of Christ.

He is survived by the following:
  • His wife, Geneva Thompson Harden, Columbia.
  • One daughter, Judy Harden Pickerell, Columbia
  • One brother, Kenneth Harden, Shelpbyville.
Burial will be in the Harden Cemetery at Knifley with military honors presented by VFW Post 6097.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2004, at Grissom Funeral Home, Columbia.
