Breeding Area FD Assistant Chief, veteran, Bernard Janes, 65 Bernard Janes, 65, 1340 Toria Road, Columbia, KY (the Sparksville community) passed away Monday, November 17, 2003, at 11:55 a.m., at his home after several months illness. The funeral service is Thursday, November 20, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at the Breeding Fire Department Station. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and visitation is at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 19. Mr. Janes was serving as the Assistant Fire Chief of the Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department at the time of his death. He was a US Army veteran and a farmer. He was the son of the late Hobson and Mabel Tabor Janes of Adair County. He is survived by his wife, Estelle Murrell Janes, Columbia, KY, and the following:
