In search of the right Marcum cousins

By Linda Marcum Waggener

My sister and I are looking for members of the Marcum family from the Green and Metcalfe County areas of Kentucky in hopes that a collection of family pictures can get into the right hands.

The collection came to me because my maiden name is Marcum, however, these would be distant cousins. The more closely related Marcums who should have these pictures will be descendants of Sam Marcum who married Cora Reynolds. They had one son, Leonard Marcum.

A faded little note came with the albums and contained these details:
D. A. "Ellie" Marcum married Mary Boston? And they had sons Clyde and Maxie.
Brothers Sam and Ellie Marcum owned and operated the Roller Mill in Sulphur Well until it burned.

Leonard married twice:
Mary Helen Rice and she had one son, Edward Marcum, and
Helen Davenport - no issue.

If no family members can be located the pictures will be given to the Genealogy Department of the Adair County Public Library.
