Joyce Ann Vance, 78, Green Co., KY (1941-2020)

Joyce Ann Vance of Green County passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. She was 78 years old.

The funeral services for Joyce Ann Vance will be conducted at 11amCT on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Brad Davis and Bro. B.J. Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 3pmCT until 8pmCT on Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT on Saturday until time of the funeral service.


Joyce Ann Vance of Green County, daughter of the late William Thompson and Mildred Nile Thompson, was born on Sunday, December 7, 1941 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky and departed this life on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her home.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a retired machine operator for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. after 35 plus years of service. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, was a woman of great love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her family.

She united in marriage to Georgie H. Vance on June 15, 1957 who preceded her in death on February 22, 2003.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Darlene and Jeff Bishop, and Vickie and Chris Davis all of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Laura Ashley Herron and her husband, Talvan, Brad Davis and his wife, Sarah, Casey Russell and her husband, Joshua all of Greensburg; a grandson-in-law: Craig Judd of Greensburg; nine great-grandchildren: Landree and Hailey Judd, Marley, Raylen, and Ryder Davis, Charlee, Stella and Owen Russell, and Rylan Herron; a sister-in-law: Roberta Thompson of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Vance was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Heather Ann Bishop Judd; and three brothers: William "Bill" Thompson, Jack Thompson, and Eli Thompson.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the New Salem Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Chris Davis, Jeff Bishop, Joshua Russell, Talvan Herron, Craig Judd, Gary Thompson, Charles Judd.
