Lillie Allene Curry, 78

Lillie Allene Curry, 78, 982 Vester Road, Columbia, KY, passed away at 5:15 a.m., November 1, 2003, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY, after a short illness.

The funeral service will be Monday, November 3, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lewis Haynes officiating.


She was the daughter of the late Elligah Lester and Mary Catherine Dudgeon Pike of Adair County, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bennett "Bear" Curry, on December 17, 2002.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons, Ernest Curry, Columbia; Billy Joe Curry and his wife Mae, Russell Springs; and Donnie Curry and his wife Leoda, Columbia
  • One brother, David Pike, Columbia, KY
  • Six grandsons, David Lynn, Randy, Terry, Joey, Mark, and Mike Curry
  • Three granddaughters, Lee Ann Wall, Amy Curry, and Janice Curry
  • Four great grandsons, three great grand granddaughters, two step grandsons, and four step granddaughters.
Mrs. Curry was a member of the Plum Point Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

The family requests visitation after 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 2, 2003, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary, Columbia, KY.
