William Henry Hill, 81, Jamestown, KY (1938-2020)

William Henry Hill of Jamestown passed away on February 26, 2020 at the Russell County Hospital after a prolonged illness.

The funeral service for William Henry Hill will be at held at 10amCT on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY. Interment will follow in the Dixon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Friday, and after 8amCT on Saturday.


He was born in Bryan, Ky on February 27, 1938, to the late Thomas & Adell Lawless Hill and was #8 of 14 siblings in his family.

He was a member of the Union Chapel Methodist Church and was a well-known mechanic and farmer in the Union Chapel community.

He confessed Christ in 1963 and was always active in his church by leading singing, teaching Sunday school and doing whatever needed to be done to ensure church activities were in order.

In addtion to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Hill and 1 great-grandson Blake Walters.

He is survived by:
  • His wife of 62 years, Faetta Hill
  • Two sons: David (Stacy) Hill, Russell Springs, and Curtis ((Tammie Jo) Hill, Jamestown
  • A daughter: Cheniel Skaggs, Jamestown
  • Eight grandchildren
  • Eleven great grandchildren
  • Two brothers: Thomas Hill, Jr., Jamestown and Ewell Hill, Jamestown
  • A sister: Eva Bunch, Jamestown
