KRA Youth Services Ambassador Promotes Good Health Barbara Shepherd was applauded in the recent KRA Youth Services newsletter for her efforts in helping all the staff members at KRA Youth Services to participate in the recent Westlake Health Fair blood screenings. More than 30 different health screenings, a $200 value, were made available to the public for a low cost of $12. Barbara "decided it would be a great idea to promote good health at a very affordable price" and arranged for the KRA Ambassador program to pay half of the cost. Everyone was given the opportunity and was pleased to participate. KRA Youth Services provides assistance to youth ages 14-21 (in-school) inAdair, Casey and Pulaski Counties, who meet eligibility requirements.Services offered, but not limited to, are summer employment, job shadowing,one-on-one tutoring, career counseling and study skills. The Adair offices are in the former high school, now Adair County Middle School. The KRA Youth Services Project is funded by the US Department of Labor throughthe Cumberlands Workforce Investment Board, administered by the LakeCumberland Area Development District, Inc. with Workforce Investment ActTitle I monies; and Equal Opportunity Employer/Program and auxiliary aidsand services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.
