Please pray for a miracle for 'our hero Elizabeth'

Prayers were requested Thursday evening for a miraculous return to health of ACHS freshman Elizabeth Smith. Words in the following Message written by her Dad were shared at the direction of Superintendent Pam Stephens at the February School Board Meeting.

By Rodney Smith, pastor, Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church
And father of Elizabeth Smith

Just wanted to pass along another prayer request on behalf of our precious Elizabeth.

We have met with several doctors today and have discussed the possibility of our baby bidding goodbye to this current situation of pain and sorrow, and trading it in on a wonderful, beautiful, place the Lord has created for all of those that love Him.

This by no means are we, or will we ever give up on hope of Elizabeth being healed, it was just a talk that the doctors thought we should have since her kidneys have continued to decline.

They have told us of what might begin to happen on the next few days if her kidneys continue to fail. So what I am asking for is prayers for a miracle.

Healing is not a problem that God has. He is able. Is it His will, I sure hope that it is. Please, please, pray for the Lord to send deliverance from this awful place we are currently in, and back home with all of our family alive and well.

I know you all have been praying for our family day and night and we sure appreciate it. If you will, please continue to help us bear this burden. Also, it has been an awesome sight to see everyone wearing their purple in honor of Elizabeth and the fight against Pulmonary Hypertension.

This is such a horrible, deadly disease that very few people know about.

Thanks to my hero, Elizabeth, more people in our communities have a better understanding about this life-robbing disease.

Thanks to all of you for showing your support to her, and our entire family. Elizabeth really enjoyed all of the pictures! Love you all and please continue those prayers.

Elizabeth Smith's family is calling for prayers for a miracle for her in a letter written by her Dad, Rodney, and read by Renae Smith at the February School Board Meeting.

Adair County High School designated Thursday, February 20, 2020 as PHight For Liz Day in honor of Elizabeth, an ACHS freshman who is battling a rare disorder called Pulmonary Hypertension or PH. The disorder has created such problems for Elizabeth that she is awaiting organ transplants for her lungs, heart, liver, and possibly kidneys.

Her father, Rodney Smith, wrote, "Healing is not a problem that God has. He is able. Is it His will, I sure hope that it is. Please, please, pray for the Lord to send deliverance from this awful place we are currently in, and back home with all of our family alive and well.
