LWC Indoor Track & Field competes at MSC Championships

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's indoor track and field teams hit the road Friday and Saturday to compete at the Mid-South Conference Championships located at the George M. Smart Athletic Center in Defiance, Ohio.

On Friday, field events begin with the men's and women's shot put, triple jump, and pole vault all beginning at noonCT. On Saturday, the men's and women's weight throw, long jump, and high jump all begin at 9amCT.



Running events begin on Friday with the men's 60-meter hurdles preliminary race beginning at 2pmCT, followed by the women's race at 2:15pmCT. Running events that follow on Friday include the men's and women's 400-meter dash, 3,000-meter walk, 60-meter dash preliminary races, 600-meter run, 5,000-meter run, and distance medley.

Running events continue Saturday with the men's 4x800-meter relay beginning at 9amCT, followed by the women's race at 9:15pmCT. Running events that follow on Saturday are the men's and women's one mile run, 60-meter hurdles finals, 1,000-meter run, 60-meter dash finals, 800-meter run, 200-meter dash, 3,000-meter run, and 4x400-meter relay.

The top two placers of each event receive All-Mid-South Conference accolades. The top conference finisher of an event is named First Team All-Conference, while the second-best conference competitor receives Second Team All-Conference honors.

The Blue Raiders last competed at the UIndy Team Invitational last Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Rayne Jones-Foster earned the Mid-South Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award with his performance at UIndy, recording a pair of third place finishes in the long jump (6.23 meters) and triple jump (13.38 meters). Levi Owens and Jaylun Wallace each notched top-five finishes at meet, with Owens notching third in the 3,000-meter run at 8:50.87, and Wallace grabbing fifth in the 200-meter dash at 22.99. Caleb Watson went as the solo men's runner to the Depauw Invite in Greencastle, Indiana, where he finished fourth in the 800-meter run at 2:00.63.

On the women's side, Paige Pettell added a second-place finish in the shot put with a national B standard mark of 13.38 meters. Tatiana Williams grabbed the other top-five finish for LWC, as she notched fourth-place in the triple jump with a jump of 10.76 meters. Meredith Johnson went as the solo women's runner to the DePauw Invite, where she won the 1,000-meter run at a final time of 3:06.83.

Live results will be available for the meet. The MSC Indoor Track and Field Championships begin on Friday at noon CT from Defiance, Ohio.
