LWC bowling to compete at MSC Championships this weekend By Grace Blomstedt The Lindsey Wilson men and women's bowling teams are set to compete at the Mid-South Conference Bowling Championships at Southern Lanes, 2710 Scottsville Rd, Bowling Green, KY. Singles and doubles competition kicks off on Thursday with the women starting at 7:30amCT, followed by the men at 1pmCT. Each team may enter up to eight bowlers for singles and doubles action. The double-elimination team match-play tournament takes place on Friday and Saturday starting at 8:30amCT on both days. The men and women's double-elimination tournaments use baker scoring where five bowlers bowl two frames each resulting in a team score. No. 4-ranked Pikeville captured its eighth consecutive regular-season title and the No.1 seed in the women's 13 team tournament. The Bears went 66-0 in the regular season, winning all five MSC events throughout the year. Lindsey Wilson women's bowling is seeded 11th in the championship as they held an MSC record of 17-49. The women's team is set to face 6th-seeded Bethel (Tenn.) on Friday at 8:30amCT in the team tournament. On the men's side, No. 4-ranked Martin Methodists (Tenn.) won the regular-season championship with a 67-3 record, grabbing the top seed in the 14-team bracket. The Lindsey Wilson men enter the tournament as the 13th seed with a record of 11-59 this season. In the team tournament, the Blue Raiders are set to face the No.4-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday at 8:30 a.m. CT. The MSC Championships start at 7:30amCT on Thursday at Southern Lanes.
