Grant aids Columbia Police Department in drug enforcement By Tiffany Collins, City of Columbia In a release from the City of Columbia today, work continues to progress on expansion of drug enforcement policies in the city. "We have just received a grant from the USDA for a drug enforcement vehicle," said Chief Jason Cross. "This vehicle will be equipped for educational purposes to be utilized in the school system and public activities in our community," he noted. The City of Columbia also implemented a Drug Task Force; and, is continuing to work on enforcement of drug tips to the department. "The City of Columbia will be continuing to work on drug issues in our community," said Mayor Pamela Hoots. The drug enforcement vehicle is scheduled to be equipped by summer.
