William Hadley, 88

William Hadley, 88, a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home, formerly of the Fairplay Community in Adair County, passed away Friday, October 10, 2003, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. He had been ill for several months.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2003, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson officiating.


Mr. Hadley was the son of the late Henry Clay and Hattie Louann Keith Hadley of Adair County.

He is surved by the following:
  • Four sons and their wives : Bro. Ralph and wife Bobbie Hadley, Columbia, KY; Bro. Elbert and wife Edith Hadley, Fairplay, KY; Dallas and wife Julie Hadley, Fairplay; and Carnell and wife Debbie Hadley, Fairplay
  • Two daughters : Joyce Corbin Fair, Columbia, KY, and Wanda and her husband Roy (Bud) Helm, Fairplay.
  • Seventeen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
  • Two sisters in law: Pearl Hadley, Fairplay, KY, and Dorothy Fletcher of Columbia.
  • and a devoted friend and neighbor, Amon Spoon, Fairplay.
Mr. Hadley was preceded in death by four brothers, Preston, Leo, Joe, and Felix Hadley; two half brothers, Lewis Elmer and Burdine Keith; and two half sisters, Fannie Flatt and Deller Banks.

Interment will be in the McClister Cemetery at Fairplay, KY.

The family requests visitation after 1:30 p.m., Sunday, October 12, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Home in Columbia, KY.
