Rev. Oakley England, 82

Rev. Oakley England, 82, of Adair County, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2003, at 6:50 p.m., at the Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, KY, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., at Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Danny Wayne Sexton and Rev. Danny Dickson officiating.


Rev. England was ordained by the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church December 6, 1947, and was a loyal member until the time of his death. He was also a retired farmer.

He was the son of the late Less and Myrtie England.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Zorne Wilson England, in 1990; by a son, Charles Owen England, in April, 1995; by a granddaughter, Pamel Sue England Perkins, in June 1989; two brothers, Roy and Amos England; and by three sisters, Lena Gibson, Velma Barnes, and Gertie England.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son, David England, and his wife Susan
  • One daughter, , Betty Jean Brock, and her husband, Paul, Shepherdsville
  • A daughter-in-law, Helen S. England, Mt. Washington, KY
  • and Five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends
Interment will be in Moore Cemetery.

The family requests visitation after 9:30 a.m., Monday, September 22, 2003, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY.
