Music events on 3rd Thursdays added at Homeplace on GR By Linda Waggener Billy Joe Fudge, President of the Homeplace on Green River Board, welcomed a large crowd for the annual winter meeting Saturday evening, January 25, 2020 in Columbia. The purpose of the meeting was to keep volunteers and all who are interested in the project informed about the activities and opportunities to help at the farm. New events coming this year in addition to the spring and fall festivals at the farm, include the Third Thursday music nights, a time of making music together, starting in March. Becky Nash Rowe was guest speaker remembering the start of the Homplace and its growth since its inception in September, 2001. Homeplace has a mission to protect and promote rural American culture through the sustainability of agriculture and natural resources, utilizing education, conservation, and the economic opportunities of agritourism. It is a shared project of Adair, Green and Taylor counties and is located at 5807 New Columbia Road, Campellsville, KY. The farm is being restored by volunteers and is administered by a Board of Directors representing all three counties.
