Donations sought for Feese marker in Columbia Cemetery By Prudence Hutchison Westholm This is a call to all Feese descendants who may wish to help mark the gravesite of our families in the Columbia City Cemetery in Adair County, KY. It has come to the attention of William Feese and me that our esteemed and successful ancestors are buried in unmarked graves. William has started a fundraising campaign to erect a gravestone at the Columbia Cemetery in honor of our Feese ancestors. George Richard Feese is his great grandfather and Frances Ermine Feese Hutchison is my great grandmother. Samuel N Feese (1814-1887) married Malinda Hardin Feese (1818-1897) on October 11, 1838 and they had thirteen children:The total cost of the gravestone with engravings (including the names, dates of their thirteen children on the back and a picture of the couple imbedded on the stone front) is $3,600. To date, a total of $1,333.96 has been deposited into a special savings account. When the goal is reached, notification will be announced. The expectation is that this stone may be delivered by the end of January 2020 with payment expected within 15 days of delivery. Both sides of the stone will read: DONATED BY DESCENDANTS 2020. Donations of any amount will be accepted and appreciated. Send checks to: William R Feese, 2109 Greensburg Road, Columbia, KY 42728 Any funds received above the goal will be donated to the Columbia City Cemetery Maintenance Fund.
