Manchester Tank open house to be Jan. 29 at CU By Ariel C. Emberton Campbellsville, KY - The Manchester Tank & Equipment Co. will hold its open house at Campbellsville University's Student Activity Center, 106 University Drive, Campbellsville, from 2pmET to 6pmET on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Headquartered in Franklin, Tenn., the company is moving to Campbellsville's old Clarcor building because of "its central location, capable workforce and economic partnerships," Jason Roop, director of Campbellsville University's Virginia Ponser Flanagan Technology Training Center (CUTTC), said. The event will feature various vendors including the Campbellsville University welding technology staff, CUTTC staff and human resources representatives from Manchester Tank. There will be informational presentations every hour beginning at 2:30pmET. It is recommended that those in attendance bring their resume and speak with members of the HR team if interested in a position at the new facility. Material handlers, welders, maintenance technicians, customer service, management positions and many more job opportunities are available. Free T-shirts will be given out to the first 200 guests and other give-a-ways will be available. According to their website, Manchester Tank has been an industry leader in the "design and manufacture of steel and aluminum low-pressure DOT cylinders and ASME pressure vessels for the storage and transport of propane, chemicals, compressed air and other industrial applications since 1946." The company does business all across the world and produces approximately 30 product families used for commercial, residential and industrial markets. The company plans to hire 250 to 300 employees with 100 of these being welders for its Campbellsville location. "CU has a robust, professional welding technology program which incorporates all the skills needed for employment at Manchester Tank," Roop said. "The CU welding technology program will play an important role in training employees at Manchester Tank." Taylor County Schools will be partnering with the CUTTC to provide welding training and these trainees can apply at Manchester Tank as certified welders for some of the openings. The event, which is open to the public, is at Campbellsville University because "Campbellsville University will be a vital partner in the development of their talent and training in welding," Roop said.
