Farmers Market vendors get ready for 2020 season Farmers Market on the Square (FM2) vendors met Thursday and got started preparing for the 2020 season which will run from April through October on the corner of Merchant and Campbellsville Streets in Columbia. Darrell Andrew says farmers are already beginning to work on crops for this year. Some use greenhouses and growing tunnels to start cold crops, planting seeds in pots which will then be transferred to the ground. Each farm, as well as individuals who wish to sell at the Market, have the opportunity to invest a hundred dollars and secure a booth for the whole season, or ten dollars to have a booth space for one day. There are about 30 Saturday events in the season, plus they offer Wednesday sales in the height of the growing season. Anyone who has questions about the market or the meeting may call co-director Donna Jones at 270-634-2125. This story was posted on 2020-01-21 05:51:03
