Joyce Bernell Wethington Atwood, 81, Casey County, KY Joyce Bernell Wethington Atwood, of Linnie Rheber Road, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at Casey County Hospital. She was 81. Funeral services will be held at 10amCT/11amET on Monday, December 23, 2019 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Parton officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8pmET on Sunday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Russell Toebbe, Harvey Toebbe, Richard Price, Chris Atwood, Ben Atwood, and Joe Atwood. Born December 9, 1938, in Liberty, KY, she was a daughter of the late Crawford and Marie Taylor Wethington. Mrs. Atwood was a retired seamstress for Fruit of the Loom, having worked for over 40 years. She was also a farmer's wife and enjoyed working on the farm. She was a spiritual woman who was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Mrs. Atwood enjoyed working puzzles, being outside, and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on April 16, 2009, Arthur "Obbie" Atwood, whom she married on December 22, 1956. Survivors include her son, Wayne (and Janice) Atwood of Liberty; daughter, Charlotte (and Dennis) Toebbe of Louisville; brother, Cecil "Slick" Wethington of Liberty; sisters, Anita (and Oval) Wheeler of Liberty, Joann Atwood of Richmond, and Terri (and Barney) Goode of Bardstown; 6 grandchildren, Angela (and Richard) Price, Russell (and Elisha) Toebbe, Harvey (and Demi) Toebbe, Chris Atwood, Joe (and Kasey) Atwood, and Ben (and Cassie) Atwood; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sisters, Renee Wethington and Barbara Burton. Arrangements are entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
