Christmas celebrated together at the Polly Barn

By Linda Waggener

A very Merry Christmas evening was hosted by the Glens Fork United Methodist and Beach Grove Separate Baptist churches. Dinner and the Christmas play delighted those in attendance at the early December, 2019 event held in the Polly Barn in Glens Fork, KY.

Laura Brummett, director, wrote, "We would like to thank each and everyone who came to the barn to be a part of this Christmas worship service. The journey to Bethlehem was a moment in time that will never be forgotten. These events that lead up to the birth of Christ have been shared for generations and will continue to impact the world as Jesus did, on that beautiful sacred night, bringing hope to those who had long awaited the arrival of the Messiah and those today who continue to seek His presence.

"As the personal recollections told by Elizabeth, the Shepherd, the Innkeeper, Joseph, Mary, and the Wise Man were told, we invited our guest to listen intently to each encounter. For they dealt with so much, that is so often overlooked by us today.

"God had a purpose for each of these individuals just as he has for everyone of us. It is our prayer that each of you may be granted the understanding, that through the greatest miracle performed, God used the ordinary people, to bring His plan to pass. Now more than 2000 years later, He will continue to use each of us to complete His restoration.

"Each and everyone of us have a purpose here on this earth - know that. May the Glory always be given to God. Merry Christmas." -Laura

Mary, mother of Jesus, was played by Laura Brummett who reflected her experience and spoke the lines in the play, "As I looked down at my son, my Redeemer, I knew he'd be the one to change everything. Because he had already changed me."
