Ethel May Garnett, 99 Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at Grissom Funeral Home for Ethel May Garnett, one of Adair County's oldest and most respected citizens, who passed away Saturday morning at Summit Manor Nursing Home.Visitation begins Monday, August 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. prior to the service at 3:30 p.m. with Bro. Randy Johnson officiating. She was a daughter of the late William Anthony and Mary Lee Holladay Garnett. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother: Allie Garnett Cundiff, Opal Garnett Rogers, Thomasine Garnett and Henry Garnett. Survivors include: a sister, Rena Garnett Tupman of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Frances Johnson Garnett of Columbia; two nieces, Martha Garnett Chamberlain of Columbia, Mary Ann Garnett Dowling and husband Tom of Corbin; a great niece, Elizabeth Chamberlain Trotter and husband Greg of Georgetown; a great nephew, David Garnett Chamberlain and wife Lastenia of Crestview, Florida; and a number of cousins and close friends. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the 3:30 p.m. service time on Monday. Burial will follow in the Columbia Cemetery.
