TCIS Cardinal Academy Students Visit Shaker Village

On Thursday, October 17, 2019 Taylor County Intermediate School Cardinal Academy visited Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill.

While there, students toured the community, took part in Shaker music and dance, and tried their hand at broom making.

Shaker customs, architecture, and contributions to society were discussed, as well as their farm-to-table model of life.

Cardinal Academy students visit Shaker Village

Students in the Taylor County Intermediate School Cardinal Academy visited Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill last week, taking in the fall scenery and learning about the ways of the Shakers.

Learning about farm-to-table living was part of the visit to Shaker Village. Taylor County Intermediate students observed customs, architecture, and contributions to society made by Shakers during their recent visit.
