Schedule for 2019-20 LWC Men's Basketball season announced

By Christopher Coombs

The schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 Lindsey Wilson men's basketball season was released by head coach Keith Adkins on Wednesday.

A total of 31 games are scheduled to be played in the regular season including 15 home games and an early-season tournament at the Battle at the Beach in Panama City, Florida.

Competition begins with six of seven straight home games which begin on Oct. 26, as the Blue Raiders host Ohio State-Mansfield. The stretch includes a highly touted match-up with Missouri Baptist on Nov. 15 during the Lindsey Wilson Classic, an event at Biggers Sports Center on Nov. 15-16, as the Spartans finished last season as the No. 9-ranked team in the NAIA.

Sandwiched in the middle of the opening slate is a meeting with NCAA DI institution the Iowa Hawkeyes in an exhibition contest.

Following this stretch, the Blue Raiders head to Campbellsville for a pair of games at the Campbellsville Classic on Nov. 22-23. This will be the first of the two back-to-back road tournaments this season as LWC will be at the Battle at the Beach on Nov. 29 - Dec. 1.

The Blue Raiders kick-off conference action on Dec. 7 when they welcome Campbellsville (Ky.) to Biggers Sports Center in the Battle of Highway 55. LWC then wraps up out of conference play with games against Missouri Baptist and Martin Methodist (Tenn.).

January begins with conference play as Lindsey Wilson opens with two-straight road games, beginning against Life (Ga.) on Jan. 4. The Blue Raiders then head to Cumberland (Tenn.) on Jan. 6.

Lindsey Wilson returns home for a three-game stretch where they face Shawnee State (Ohio) on Jan. 9, Pikeville (Ky.) on Jan. 11 and Cumberlands (Ky.) on Jan. 18. The Blue Raiders hit the road to face MSC newcomer Thomas More (Ky.) on Jan 23 before taking on the defending NAIA National Champions Georgetown (Ky.) on Jan. 25.

The Blue Raiders then face each conference member one more time from Jan. 30 - Feb. 27. Lindsey Wilson's home season finale comes against Thomas More on Feb. 22 as they close out regular-season action on Feb. 27 with a trip to Cumberlands.

Postseason play is scheduled to begin on March 6th with the Mid-South Conference Tournament at Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky while the 83rd Annual NAIA National Championship Tournament is scheduled for March 18-24 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri.
