James Simpson Parsons, well-known auto service manager, dies at 84 James Simpson Parsons, 84, 2195 Greensburg Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at his home. The funeral service will be Friday, May 30, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Lowe officiating. Interment will be in the Sparksville Cemetery. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. Simpson Parsons was a well-known through his many years as service manager for Phelps Motor Company in Columbia. Mr. Parsons was the son of the late Allen and Sally Montra Dohoney Parsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Coomer Parsons, on January 3, 2000. He is survived by the following:
Visitation is after 4:30 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2003. Pallbearers are J.C. VanArsdale, Kevin VanArsdale, Bobby Matney, Allen VanArsdale, Estil Jessee, and Shirley Glasgow.
