Burn ban lifted

By Gale Cowan
Adair Co. Judge Executive

Rain is expected to move in to the area this afternoon/evening, so, effective 6pmCT on October 11, 2019, the Burn Ban that has been in place in Adair County will be lifted. Please keep in mind we are still under the fall burn ban set in place by the Division of Forestry and open burning is still prohibited from 6amCT- 6pmCT within 150' of any woodland or brush land, pursuant to KRS 149.400.

We will continue to watch the drought monitors and if the situation worsens, we may be required to put the ban back in place. Please be mindful of winds and your surroundings if you plan to burn anything outside.

Signed,
Gale Cowan, Adair Co. Judge Executive
Mike Keltner, Adair Co. Emergency Management Director
