By Grace Blomstedt

The No. 8-ranked men's soccer team returns home to host Maine at Fort Kent at 7pmCT on Thursday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. The Bengals are part of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Lindsey Wilson (4-1) is back after picking up two quality wins against then No. 14 Mobile (AL) and (RV) Keiser (FL) at the Grizzly Classic this past weekend.

The Blue Raiders defeated Mobile 2-1 while playing a third of the game down at least one player due to red cards. On Sunday, LWC shutout Keiser in a 4-0 victory.

Over the weekend, five Blue Raiders recorded at least one assist, including Akean Shackleford, who tallied one in each match. Rainer De Jesus scored one goal in each match and Shackleford tallied a hat trick against Keiser. David Coffey managed to accumulate 15 saves between the two matches.

On the season, LWC's offensive attack is led by a dynamic duo. Oscar Dueso has recorded 18 shots, ten on goal, and six goals, while Shackleford has managed 16 shots, nine on goal, and five goals in just three games. Wendel Gabriel leads the team with four assists. Coffey has allowed only four goals while amassing 20 saves in four games.

The Bengals (6-0) are back in action after an 8-0 win against Maine at Machias on Saturday. UMFK has scored 19 goals so far this season while not allowing its opponents to score a single goal. The goalkeeper duties have been split between Glenroy Osbourne and Reece Pelletier so far this season.

This is the first match-up between the Blue Raiders and the Bengals.
