Thirsie Downey, 95

Thirsie Downey, 95, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at 3:37 a.m. at Westlake Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Downey was a resident of Summit Manor Funeral Home.

She was a member of Trinity United United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

She was the daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Price Keltner and the widow of Marvin A. Downey, who preceded her in death September 23, 1974.

Mrs. Downey is survived by five daughters: Brenda Hatcher and Evon Legg, both of Columbia; Zenith Hatcher, Hume, IL; Deana Stone, Tuscola, IL; and Geneva Holmes, Mesa, AZ; three sons, Jimmie Downey and Thomas Downey, both of Columbia, KY; and Arlin Downey, Greensburg, KY; and 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Hollis, Kenneth "Buck," and Coy Downey; and by five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and two great grandchildren.

Bro. Steven Neel will officiate at the funeral. Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Wayne Downey, Bobby Downey, Kenny Downey, Jeff Hatcher, Shane Legg, and Tony Hatcher.

Visitation will be after 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2003. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
