Blue Raiders finish 2nd and 3rd in Green River Classic

Goodman finishes first, two more Blue Raiders finish in top-10; Lindsey Wilson Men's Bowling takes second, Women's Bowling places third at Green River Classic.

Danville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's bowling team posted a second-place finish over the weekend at the Green River Classic. Tanner Goodman finished first overall in the individual standings, winning by 27 pins after bowling a 1,054 total across five games.

Lindsey Wilson compiled 6,921 pins in the team event to fall just short of Tennessee Wesleyan who finished the tournament with 7.104 pins.

Goodman averaged 210.8 pins across his five games as he bowled a high of 266 during just his second frame. He broke the 200 pin mark twice as he bowled a 240 later in the day.



Jonah Anderson totaled 1,000 pins over his five games as he averaged an even 200 pins, bowling a game-high 238. He finished in sixth place. Brandon Pendley and Alex Ash finished in 22nd and 23rd, respectively. Pendley knocked down 912 pins as Ash finished with 911.

Kendall Bunch bowled three games for LWC averaging 176.6 pins a game as Andy O'Dell played two frames to a 173 average.

The Lindsey Wilson junior varsity team was also in action over the weekend, turning in a fifth-place finish after racking up 4,568 pins for the tournament.

Cameron Easler totaled 871 pins as Payton Redmon had 825, Brandon Gibson finished with 710 and Chris Burden knocked down 692.

The Blue Raider men return to the lanes on Sept. 28-29 when they travel to the Cardinal Classic in Muncie, Indiana.

The Lindsey Wilson women's bowling team captured a third-place finish over the weekend at the Green River Classic. Jacqueline Oliphant turned in the best Blue Raider finish in fifth place as Anna Etherington finish just behind in sixth.

Oliphant racked up 910 pins in her five games, just 35 pins off Candace Gibson of Campbellsville (Ky.) who captured first place with 945 pins. Oliphant bowled one game over 200 as she managed a game-high 213 during her fourth game. She averaged 182 pins for the tournament.

Etherington's competition came to a close in 6th place after collecting a score of 909 in five games, with a high of 254 and averaged 181.8 pins per frame.

Madelin Zubricky finished in 15th after bowling five games to an 850 total, breaking the 200 mark once during her final game with a 202. Madeline Cain knocked down of 823 pins for LWC as she averaged 164.6 pins a game. Samantha Endicott accumulated 647 pins in four games and Theresa Rickertsen bowled a 140 in her only game.

That team effort from the Blue Raiders had LWC with a score of 6,334 following the five-team games. Campbellsville (Ky.) won the team event with a score of 6,540, followed by Union (Ky.) in second at 6,461.

The Blue Raiders women return to the lanes on Sept. 28-29 when they travel to the Cardinal Classic in Muncie, Indiana.
