Final 5 to Interview for Superintendent

The Board of Education has narrowed the list from 27 applicants (with 1 withdrawal). The following five applicants will be interviewed for Superintendent of Adair County Schools, with a decision expected by May 1, 2003:
  • Darrell Treece (interview April 22)
  • David Eakles (interview April 23)
  • Brenda Mann (interview April 28)
  • Vernon Clark (interview April 29)
  • Jon Hall (interview April 30)


The Candidates:

Clark:

  • Residence: Waynesburg, KY
  • Education: Rank 1 from EKU, ME from EKU, BS from EKU
  • Current Position: Superintendent, Casey County Schools


Eakles:

  • Residence: Bowling Green, KY
  • Education: Rank 1 from WKU, Masters from WKU, BA from WKU
  • Current position: Assistant Superintendent for Student & Support Services, Warren County Board of Education


Hall:

  • Residence: Franklin KY
  • Education: Pursuing EdD at UL/WKU, Rank 1 from WKU, MS from WKU, BS from WKU
  • Current Position: Director of Personnel, Simpson County Schools


Mann:

  • Residence: Columbia, KY
  • Education: Rank 1 from WKU, ME from WKU, BS from WKU, AA from LWC
  • Current Position: Adair County Board of Education: Director of Pupil Personnel, plus a number of other responsibilities


Treece:

  • Residence: Cynthiana, KY
  • Education: Rank 1 from EKU, MA from Union College, BS from Lincoln Memorial University in TN
  • Current Position: Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, Paris Independent Schools


Interview Process
On the individual interview day, each candidate will start by meeting the current Superintendent, then lunch with the Elementary Principals, followed by a meeting with Middle and High School Principals and then Central Office staff.

The general public is invited to a "Meet the Candidate" reception from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on each interview day in the ACHS Library, where the candidate may make brief comments (no public questions at these events).

From 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. there will be a School Board meeting for dinner with the candidate, followed by closed session interviews with the Board.

On May 1, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. the School Board will hold a special meeting in the school board conference room for the purpose of discussions or hearing which might lead to the appointment of an individual employee.
