LWC 2019 Homecoming activities - Schedule of Events

The Lindsey Wilson College 2019 Homecoming celebration begins today and continues Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Clicking 'read more' takes you to the full schedule of events.

All events are free unless otherwise noted. To make reservations for any Homecoming 2019 event, contact the Alumni Office at 270-384-8400 or alumni@lindsey.edu. Register online at lindsey.edu/homecoming. Everyone who registers in advance will receive a free family weekend pass to the Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center!

Thursday, September 12, 2019

11 a.m. - 4th Annual Faculty & Staff Homecoming Reunion Cookout
Hosted by: The LWC Alumni Association Council, Campus Quadrangle
The LWC Alumni Association and Alumni Council celebrate the incredible faculty and staff of Lindsey Wilson College. All current and former faculty, staff, and LWC alumni are invited to join us as we honor our dedicated employees who live out the LWC mission of, "Every student, Every day!"

2 p.m. - LWC Men's Soccer vs. John Brown University, Walter S. Reuling Stadium. Relax after lunch by cheering on your Blue Raiders!

7 p.m. - LWC Women's Soccer vs. Spring Arbor University, Walter S. Reuling Stadium

9:30 p.m. - Homecoming Kickoff & Pep Rally! Hosted by: S.G.A., Campus Quadrangle
Join the LWC football team, cheerleaders, Blue Raider Marching Band, and Blue Raider Bob for a Homecoming pep rally & fireworks display - complete with s'mores!

Friday, September 13

1 - 4 p.m. - Homecoming Registration at the L.R. McDonald Administration Building - Front Lawn
Stop by the Welcome Tent to grab your Homecoming 2019 goody bag! Register for weekend events, purchase discounted football game tickets, pick up your free weekend pass to the Holloway Health & Wellness Center, and get all other information needed for the weekend!

1 p.m. - Campus Tour, L.R. McDonald Administration Building
Been awhile since your last time on campus? Enjoy a guided tour of the A.P. White campus from an LWC Student Ambassador. You are sure to find something new!

2 p.m. - 16th Annual Morris Shepherd Ping Pong Tournament, Cralle Student Union Building
Join alumni and current students in this single-elimination tournament in honor of Morris Shepherd '53. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners of the singles and doubles tournaments. Registration begins on-site at 1:45 p.m.

3 p.m. - LWC Alumni Association Annual Meeting, Katie Murrell Library - Clark Reading Room
All LWC alumni are invited to join the LWC Alumni Council for their fall meeting. During this time you will learn about all of the exciting ways you can become an active and engaged member of the LWC Alumni Association.

5 p.m. - LWC Volleyball vs. Life University, Walter S. Reuling Stadium
Cheer on the Blue Raiders in this conference match-up! Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the gate.

5:30 p.m. - Bonner Scholar Reunion, Wilkerson Bonner House
All former LWC Bonner Scholars are invited back to reconnect and meet our current Bonner Scholars! At 6:30 p.m. attendees will walk together to the President's Reception.

6 - 8 p.m. - President's Homecoming Reception, Emily Hundley President's Home
Join us for an evening with the entire LWC Family! We encourage you to attend this event, which has become a highlight of the Homecoming weekend. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. Special guests will include the 2019 Homecoming Alumni Award Recipients, Athletic Hall of Fame Class, and alumni of our wrestling and football teams, who are both celebrating 10 seasons!

7 p.m. - LWC Singers Candlelight Ceremony: Signing of the Standards of Excellence, Begley Chapel
This annual ceremony provides each student with a greater appreciation of this distinguished ensemble's traditions and accomplishments. The candlelight ceremony is a significant and meaningful experience for all who attend. LWC Singers alumni are especially welcome to participate in the ceremony!

Saturday, September 14

8 a.m. - Alumni & Friends 5K, Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center
Join your LWC friends and family for a 5K around LWC's beautiful campus and local community. Runners and walkers welcome! Your $20 registration fee will support the Bonner Scholar Program's upcoming service trip to Ecuador. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. For questions, contact Tara McGuire at tara.mcguire@lindsey.edu.

9 - 10 a.m. - Homecoming Registration, Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center
Just arriving? Stop by our registration table to check-in for Homecoming 2019! Register for weekend events, purchase discounted football game tickets, and get all information needed for the weekend.

9:30 a.m. - Golden Alumni Society Reunion, Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center

10:30 a.m. - Wrestling Alumni Open Mat, Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center - Wrestling Room
Dust off your singlets and join us as former Blue Raiders take the mat. Do you still have what it takes? There is only one way to find out!

11 a.m. - 2019 Alumni Awards & Athletic Hall of Fame Celebration - Sponsored by: TJ Health - Columbia, in the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center
The LWC National Alumni Association invites you to its 89th-annual Alumni Awards Celebration. Join fellow classmates and friends as we honor this year's Alumni Award recipients and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. Cost: $15 per person, $25 per couple.

12:30 p.m - Alumni Tailgate Zone, Lindsey Wilson Sports Park - Egnew Park
Looking for a spot to tailgate? Then look no further than the Alumni Tailgate Zone! This is the perfect space to prepare your gameday spread and relax with friends. Enjoy the use of our tent and free cold soft drinks!

12:30 p.m - Wrestling Alumni Reunion & Tailgate, Lindsey Wilson Sports Park - Egnew Park
Calling all wrestling alumni! LWC wrestling just completed their 10th season. It's time to celebrate those who laid the foundation for one of the most successful wrestling programs in the NAIA. Come share a meal and memories with your former teammates and coaches before the Homecoming game! For questions, contact Corey Ruff at ruffc@lindsey.edu.

1:30 p.m. - Football Alumni Reunion, Blue Raider Stadium - Track
The 10th season of LWC Football is here! We encourage all members of the Blue Raider Football Family to enjoy a time of fellowship. Join us as we celebrate the program you helped to build! Visit the reunion tent to connect with former teammates and grab a cold soft drink - our treat! You are welcome to utilize the tent throughout the entire game.
*Meet at the tent before the end of the second quarter for a special football alumni recognition during halftime.

2-4 p.m. & 4-5:15 p.m. - Campus Kitchen Cook Shift & Delivery Shift at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson Golf Course & Country Club
The Campus Kitchen currently serves 50+ clients in the Adair County area. This would not be possible without the generous donations of time and resources from our beloved volunteers. Cook shift volunteers will help in meal preparation. Delivery shift volunteers with assist in meal delivery to area clients. 2:30 p.m. - Homecoming Football Game -- LWC vs. Faulkner University, Blue Raider Stadium
Let's cheer on the Blue Raiders to a Homecoming victory and celebrate the crowning of the King and Queen. We will also recognize our Blue Raider Football Alumni! Tickets to the Homecoming football game can be purchased during Homecoming Registration or online for $5. (Tickets at the gate cost $10.)

7 p.m. - TheatreFest! presents: Black Comedy in the V.P. Henry Auditorium
In need of a laugh? Then you do not want to miss Black Comedy. This hilarious farce takes place on a "black box" stage with limited seating, so reserve your tickets today! Tickets are $10 for General Admission and $5 for children, LWC faculty, staff, and students. Reserve tickets by emailing Robert Brock at brockr@lindsey.edu.

Sunday, September 15

11 a.m. - Homecoming Worship Service Columbia United Methodist Church
The congregation of Columbia United Methodist Church invites the Lindsey Wilson family to join them in a special worship service led by the Lindsey Wilson College Singers.

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Brunch in the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining and Conference Center - Conclude your Homecoming with friends over brunch.
