New pastor at Seventh-day Adventist Church The Columbia Seventh-day Adventist Church would like to announce the arrival of their new pastor. Christopher Langston, along with his wife, Izzy, came to Columbia in May and took over as pastor of the church on June 8. He will be pastor for the Columbia SDA Church as well as the Jamestown and Burkesville churches. Langston is originally from New Market, Virginia. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served four years in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, N.C. He was a forward observer and an E-5 Sergeant. After leaving the service, he attended Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee, where he met his wife Izzy. He graduated in May. His position in Columbia is his first placement. Izzy is from Anchorage, Alaska, but moved often growing up due to her military family. She majored in business administration at Southern Adventist University, specializing in marketing. She and Christopher married on March 26, 2017. "While this is my first church I've pastored," stated Langston, "I have done a lot of evangelistic work, especially in Nashville and the Dominican Republic and I also interned in a Chattanooga church before taking on this new position." The couple is glad to call Columbia home. Izzy said, "We are happy to be here. We just recently found out we will be having our first child in February and we are excited to have the baby here in Columbia. It will always be our baby's hometown." "We feel blessed to be here and pray that the Lord will do beautiful work through this community and we are proud to be part of it," said Langston. This story was posted on 2019-09-11 05:52:48
