Favorite son Jody Richards brings campaign home to Columbia

Speaker Jody Richards will bring his campaign for the Democratic Gubernatorial nomination back home to Adair County on Friday, April 11.

Richards will be at the Adair County Courthouse Annex at 6:30 p.m.



Richards is the son of the late Demaree and Mary Richards of Garlin. He was reared in the Garlin Community and is a 1956 graduate of Adair County High School.

Jody Richards has served in the Kentucky House of Representatives for more than 25 years.

He led the effort to draft and pass the Kentucky Education Reform Act. Kentucky taxes have been reduced by more than $2 billion during his tenure as House Speaker.

He is a U.S. Army veteran and has been a successful small business owner for over 25 years.

His running mate for lieutenant governor is Tony Miller, Circuit Court Clerk of Jefferson County.

Not since the Civil War has the Commonwealth of Kentucky been governed by an Adair Countian.
