Animal shelter meeting Tuesday, April 1st

Dr. Shantila Rexroat is helping a group of concerned Adair County citizens in efforts to start an animal shelter here for abused, neglected and abandoned animals. The meeting is scheduled . . .

at Cranmer Dining Center at Lindsey Wilson College on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Every month the Sheriff's office reports incoming calls concerning animals -- loose dogs attacking humans or livestock; starving, mistreated animals; unwanted litters of puppies and kittens left on roadsides.

Five acres of land have already been secured from an anonymous donor. Now it's up to the people of Columbia and Adair County to take the next step.
