Letter: please don't mow our morning glories

An Appeal to Those Who Trim Behind Printing Creations in downtown Columbia:

"The dear little morning glories that you mowed down a couple of weeks ago thankfully had enough seed in the ground that there is a new crop sprouted. I re-stacked the bricks around the main part but there are dozens of new morning glories within a three-foot area around the bricked area.

"Could you please leave these so hopefully they can grow, bloom and reseed before winter.

Thank you."
Joyce M. Coomer

Beautiful Gradyville Morning Glories in the rain

2019-08-26 - Western Adair County, KY - Photo by Betsy Fausnaugh.
Joyce Coomer's appeal to protect the Morning Glories by those who mow in downtown Columbia reminded me of this artful photo of Betsy Fausnaugh's Gradyville crop shared in 2008. She noted it was made after a summer rain. - LW
