Reader needs help with Bryant history Jean Woods writes: I have been researching for 25 years or so the family of John Bryant and Elizabeth (some say Hardin/en/ing) who lived on Russell Creek about 1794/6. He brought the property when it was Green Co. for $50 and one horse beast. He had a large family and my ancestor Alexander went to Perry Co., IN after War of 1812. All the others stayed in the area. Any descendants still living in Adair? Suppose they came from VA, but on checking 1782 tax list for VA found there are five John Bryants from five different counties in VA. Where to start? If any Columbiamagazine readers have information about the Bryant family in Columbia, or about descendants of Alexander, please post comments here, and/or send an email to Jean at jawoods@dslextreme.com.
