Vester Alley, 93

Vester Alley, 93, 2086 Sano Road, Columbia, KY, (the Sano Community) passed away Monday, March 3, 2003 at 2:15 a.m. after several months illness.

Mr. Alley was the son of the late James Henry "Jim" and Mary Vertie (Cravens) Alley of Adair County, Kentucky.

Mr. Alley was preceded in death by his wife, Rissie Florence Rooks Alley, on August 7, 1997.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Marlene Alley, Columbia; one sister, Edna Kimbler Miesse, Columbia; three grandchildren, Timmy Alley, Darwin Alley, and Angela Hargis; and six great grandchildren, Dustin Alley, Anthony Alley, Megan Hargis, Daniel Alley, Rion Alley, and Landon Hargis.

The funeral service will be Thursday, March 6, 2003, at 10 a.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Willard Bryant and Rev. Glenn Richardson will officiate. Interment will be in the Free Union Cemetery.

The family requests visitation after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
