Lindsey Wilson women's soccer head coach Drew Burwash announced the schedule for the upcoming 2019 season on Friday.
Lindsey Wilson Women's Soccer 2019 schedule
The Blue Raiders regularly play one of the toughest schedules in the country each year and will once again be put to test. Lindsey Wilson faces five teams that qualified for the national tournament last year, including a national semifinalist and the 2018 NAIA National Champion.

In all, 16 regular season matches are on the slate, eight home and eight away, against a total of six teams that were ranked or receiving votes in the 2018 postseason poll. The list includes No. 1-ranked and defending national champions William Carey (Miss.), No. 3 Spring Arbor (Mich.), No. 7 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) and No. 8 Georgia Gwinnett.

The season opens on Aug. 20 as the Blue Raiders host Indiana Wesleyan at Walter S. Reuling Stadium before three straight road contests against Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio), William Carey and Milligan (Tenn.).

The Blue Raiders season came to a close last season in the national tournament quarterfinals at the hand of the William Carey on a 1-0 decision. This matchup marks the fourth-consecutive time Lindsey Wilson will play the defending national champion the following season.

LWC then hosts the Lindsey Wilson Classic on Sept 12 and 14 as Martin Methodist, Spring Arbor and John Brown (Ark.) will all play at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

On Sept. 12, LWC takes on Spring Arbor who captured the 2015 and 2017 NAIA National Championship and finished as a national semifinalist last year. Lindsey Wilson then takes on John Brown on Sept. 14 to close out the classic.

The Blue Raiders play against their third straight NAIA National Championship qualifier from a year ago in Martin Methodist on Sept. 24.

Lindsey Wilson opens Mid-South Conference action on the road against Georgetown (Ky.) on Oct. 2 before their MSC home opener on Oct. 5 against Thomas More (Ky.). The Saints join the conference for their first season in 2019.

The Blue Raiders take a break from MSC action on Oct. 18 in their final non-conference game of the season. Lindsey Wilson is set to take on Georgia Gwinnett, a team who made it to the 2018 NAIA National Tournament. The Grizzlies season came to a close at the hand of the Blue Raiders on a 2-1 result in the second round.

The regular season concludes as the Blue Raiders travel just down the road to take on Campbellsville (Ky.) on Sept. 30. Lindsey Wilson is a perfect 25-0-0 all-time in the Battle of Highway 55.

Postseason play is scheduled to begin on Nov. 7 with the Mid-South Conference Tournament Quarterfinals in Bowling Green, Ky. The semifinals and finals are scheduled for Nov. 14-15 in Bowling Green.

The NAIA National Championship Opening Round games are slated for Nov. 23 at host campus locations. The NAIA National Tournament is scheduled to run Dec. 2-7 from the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama.
