J. T. Beard, 87, Campbellsville, KY (1932-2019) J. T. Beard of Campbellsville passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Lexington. He was 87 years old. The funeral service will be held at 10amET on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Bro. Jeff Newton. Entombment will follow in Brookside Mausoleum with full Military Honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation is requested from 5pmET until 8pmET on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. J. T. Beard of Campbellsville, son of the late Dennis Beard and Ida Mary Rice Beard, was born April 9, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:56 A.M., Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Lexington. He professed faith in Christ, was of the Baptist faith and also enjoyed singing in the choir. He also enjoyed being outdoors and loved gardening and fishing. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a retired supervisor with TGT. He united in marriage to Melva Wethington December 6, 1957. Besides his wife, Melva Bard, he is survived by three sons and one daughter: Scott Beard and wife, Gayle of Campbellsville, Bernie Beard and wife, Tina of Plantersville, Texas, Jeff Beard of West Virginia and Janie Hlavinka and husband, Brian of East Bernard, Texas; seven grandchildren: Amanda Beard, Blair Beard Burris, Shelby Beard, Nathan Hlavinka, Andrew Hlavinka, Joshua Hlavinka and Ethan Hlavinka; four great grandchildren: Aiden Zuniga, Layla Zuniga, Boe Burris and Jason Burris; one brother, Jimmy Beard of Campbellsville and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth Beard and Alvin Beard. Expressions of sympathy are requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
