It's currently 76F at the Adair County Mesonet station. There's a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Skies will be cloudy today, then gradually become mostly sunny, with a high near 89F. Heat index values could be as high as 100F. West wind 6 to 8 mph.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with an overnight low around 73F and light southwest wind.

Friday will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 94F. Heat index values as high as 106F. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Friday night should be mostly clear, with a low around 72F and southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

High temperatures will stick around through the weekend. The National Weather Service in Louisville is cautioning that several days of heat indices near or above 105 degrees could have a cumulative impact on some individuals, especially those who engage in prolonged outdoor work or other activities. Also, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Never leave pets, children, or the elderly unattended in parked vehicles.
