Henry Thomas Burton, 79, of Edinburgh, Indiana, formerly of the Garlin Community of Adair County, died Friday January 17. He was the son of the late James Denton and Martha V. Hadley Burton.

Mr. Burton is survived by his wife, Evelyn Coffey Burton of Edinburgh; three daughters, Brenda Keith and her husband Calvin, Audrey Burton and her husband Harold of Columbia, and Sharon Burton of Columbus, Indiana; four sons, Ronald Lee Burton and his wife Genette of Edinburgh, Freddie Burton and his wife Arice of Cincinnati, Gary Burton and his wife Judy of Louisville, and Greg Burton and his wife Roseann of Edinburgh.

Also surviving are one sister, Lettie Jane Burton of Columbia, and one brother Malcolm of Edinburgh; eleven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Mr. Burton was a retired Postmaster of the Garlin Post Office, a grocery merchant and a retired farmer.

Bro. Ralph Foster officiated at the services at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
