Adair native announces for Governor

It became official right before the year 2002 ended, Speaker of the House Walter D. (Jody) Richards announced that he will be a candidate for Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the upcoming election . . .

The 64 year old native of Adair County has been in the House of Representatives since 1976 and has been House Speaker since 1995. He is the son of Demaree and Mary Richards of the Garlin community and attended Adair County schools before graduating from Kentucky Wesleyan College, then getting a masters degree from the University of Missouri.
Richards and his wife Neva live in Bowling Green where he is President of Superior Books, a company which sells library books to schools and public libraries in states excluding Kentucky.
